Every plan a trainee has is their own copy. You manage those copies on the trainee card, in the Training and nutrition plans tab. The tab has a training column and a nutrition column, and each column has two lists: Active plans and Plan history.

Edit one trainee’s plan

1

Open the plan

Under Active plans, choose Edit on the plan.
2

Make your changes

The plan opens in the same builder you use for templates. Change days, exercises, sets or anything else.
3

Save

Choose the save button, which reads Save for followed by the trainee’s name.
How you know you are in a personal copy:
  • A tag in the top bar reads Personal copy with the trainee’s name.
  • The plan name is fixed in the top bar. To rename it for the trainee, open Program settings and change Program name (shown to the trainee).
  • There is no Assign to client button, because the plan already belongs to someone.
  • The app preview is labeled with the trainee’s name.
Your changes apply to this trainee only. The template and other trainees’ plans stay as they were.

How saving works

Save on a trainee’s plan writes that trainee’s plan and then takes you back:
  • If you opened the plan from another screen, such as a check-in review or a task, you return to that screen.
  • Otherwise you return to the trainee card.
If the save fails you stay in the builder and nothing is lost. For comparison, saving a library template keeps you in the builder.

The X on the personal copy tag

The X next to the Personal copy tag, Back to the master plan, leaves the personal copy and opens the template it came from. It is a way out, not a save. If you have unsaved changes, Perform asks what to do with them first.

Leaving with unsaved changes

Close the builder, use the browser’s back button or click another menu item with unsaved changes, and Perform asks whether to save, discard or keep editing.

See what the trainee swapped

If the trainee substituted an exercise in the app, the row in their plan carries a marker with the tooltip Substituted by the trainee.

Several plans for one trainee

A trainee can have more than one training plan and more than one nutrition plan at the same time. Add another one with Add training plan. See Assign a plan. In the app, a trainee with more than one active plan gets a switcher to move between them.

Active in app

Each active plan has an Active in app switch. Turning the switch off does not delete anything. Logged workouts stay, and turning it back on brings the plan back to the app. Use it to prepare a plan before the trainee should see it, or to pause one plan while another runs.
The trainee only ever sees plans that are switched on. A paused plan and a plan in the history are both invisible in the app.

End a plan

Choose End plan on an active plan. You see The plan was moved to the plan history, and the trainee no longer sees it.

Plan history

Plan history lists the trainee’s previous plans with the total number of days each one ran.

Duplicate a plan

Duplicate on an active plan makes a second copy for the same trainee. Use it to start the next block from the current one and edit from there.

What each plan row shows

  • The plan name and a tag for its state when it is paused or waiting to be sent.
  • Assigned on with the date, the number of days since, and Assigned by with the coach’s name.
  • Tags describing the plan, such as the number of workouts a week.
  • For a PDF or link plan, Open PDF or Open site in place of the builder.

Templates and personal copies

  • Editing a template does not reach plans already assigned.
  • Editing a trainee’s plan does not reach the template.
  • To roll a template change out to a trainee who already has the plan, edit their copy, or assign the updated template as a new plan and end the old one.
