Language

The app comes in six languages:
  • Hebrew (עברית)
  • English
  • Arabic (العربية)
  • German (Deutsch)
  • Spanish (Español)
  • French (Français)

The default

A new install starts in Hebrew, whatever language the phone is set to. The trainee changes it once and the choice is kept.

Changing the language

Profile, then App language. A list of the six languages opens, each written in its own language. Picking one restarts the app in that language. The trainee stays signed in. The choice is stored on the phone, per device. A trainee with two phones sets it on each.

What is translated

The app’s own text is translated: buttons, titles, messages and day names. Text that you wrote is shown as you wrote it. That includes plan and workout names, exercise notes, form questions, content titles and the wording of notifications. If your trainees use different languages, write these in the language they read.

Right-to-left

Hebrew and Arabic are laid out right to left. The whole screen mirrors: the back arrow, the order of buttons, the direction of lists and progress bars. The other four languages are left to right. The direction follows the app language, not the phone’s language. A Hebrew app on an English phone is right to left, and an English app on a Hebrew phone is left to right. A few things stay left to right in every language because they are numbers or fixed designs: the digits of the sign-in code, ruler scales in forms, and the story images made after a workout.

Dark mode

Profile, then the Dark mode switch under Appearance.
  • Your studio sets a default for its trainees in the branding settings: dark or light.
  • A trainee who has never touched the switch gets the studio default.
  • Once a trainee uses the switch, their choice is kept on that phone and the studio default no longer changes it.
The sign-in screens are always dark.

Your studio’s branding in the app

After sign-in the app takes on your studio’s identity. These come from the branding settings on the coach web app. Branding is refreshed each time the app is opened and each time it comes back to the front, so a change you make on the web reaches trainees without an app update. A trainee who belongs to two studios sees each studio’s own branding after switching.
The app name on the phone’s home screen and in the store is Perform for every studio. Branding changes the inside of the app.
