Recipes live in the content library, next to videos, guides and files. A recipe can carry ingredients, preparation steps, a photo or video and its nutrition values. Trainees open recipes from the content area of the app. Open Content in the menu to manage them.

Create a recipe

1

Start a new item

Choose New content and set Type to Recipe.
2

Add the basics

Fill in the title. Description and notes is for a short intro, prep time, servings or notes.
3

List the ingredients

Under Ingredients, write one ingredient per line.
4

Add the steps

Under Preparation steps, choose Add step for each step and Add tip for a tip between steps. Reorder them by dragging or with Move up and Move down.
5

Add a photo or video

Under Photo or video, upload an image, upload a video or paste a video link. An image can be up to 25 MB and a video up to 99 MB.
6

Save

Choose Save. You see Content saved.
Required fields are checked when you save. If one is empty, the editor scrolls to it and shows This field is required. The Published switch controls whether trainees see the recipe in the app. A recipe that is not published stays in your library as Hidden. The panel on the side shows a live preview of the recipe as it looks in the trainee app. You do not have to type a recipe that already exists somewhere.
1

Open the window

In the recipe editor, choose Create with AI. The window is titled Create recipe with AI.
2

Give it the recipe

Paste an address under Recipe link, or paste the recipe under Paste text. You can give both.
3

Fill the fields

Choose Auto-fill. The recipe’s fields are filled in for you.
4

Check and save

Read through the result, correct anything that is off, and choose Save.
With neither a link nor text, you see Paste a link or text. Some recipe sites block automatic reading. Perform tries a second way of reading the page, and only uses the result when it can confirm it came from that same page. It does not make up a recipe for a page it could not read. If the link still cannot be read, you see We could not read this link. Some sites block automatic reading. Paste the recipe text instead. Copy the recipe from the site and use Paste text. If you gave both a link and text and the link fails, the text is used on its own. Any other failure shows Could not generate the recipe. Try again or paste text.
Auto-fill saves typing. It does not replace your review. Check ingredients, amounts and steps against the original before you publish.

Recipe macros

The Recipe macros section adds nutrition values to a recipe. It is optional. Anything you leave blank is hidden in the trainee app. There are two blocks.

Automatic per-serving values

You do not need a calculator. Fill in the whole recipe’s values, the Total amount and the Serving size, and the values for one serving fill themselves in. They update as you change the totals. The block shows Auto from total while it is calculated. If the amounts are missing, the block reads Fill both amounts to calculate automatically.

Typing a per-serving value

Each per-serving field works on its own:
  • Type a value and that one field becomes yours. The other fields keep calculating.
  • Clear the field and it goes back to being calculated.
  • When a field holds a typed value, the block says A value was typed in. Clear the field to calculate it automatically again.

Only per-serving values

You can fill in the 1 serving block alone and leave Whole recipe empty. This suits a recipe you took from a nutrition label that only lists values per serving. The trainee then sees the one-serving values only.

Rounding

Calculated calories are rounded to a whole number and calculated macros to one decimal.

In portions mode

If your studio uses portions, you still type grams. Under each macro field you see what it is worth in portions, worked out from your kcal per portion. Only the grams are saved, so the portion figure follows your settings. See The portion system.

What the trainee sees

The recipe shows a Nutrition block with calories, protein, carbs and fat. When both blocks are filled, the trainee can switch between 1 serving and Whole recipe. The bars show each macro’s share of the recipe’s own calories. If you would rather send trainees to a recipe on another site than copy it, create a content item of the type External link. Tapping it in the app opens the link directly, outside the app. This is a different thing from Create with AI, which copies the recipe’s content into Perform so it shows inside the app with its ingredients, steps and macros.

Changing the type

If you change a recipe to another content type, its macros are cleared. They apply to recipes only.

Organize recipes

Recipes use the same categories and tags as the rest of the content library. Choose Manage categories & tags to edit them. You can also mark a recipe as featured with Mark as featured.
