Logging in Perform means ticking what was eaten from the menu. The trainee does not have to type calories. They only change something when what they ate differs from the plan.

Marking a meal from the list

On the Nutrition tab, the round check on a meal row marks the whole meal as eaten in one tap. Tapping it again clears it.

Inside a meal

Tapping a meal opens it. The header shows the meal name, its time and its total. Under it a summary compares what is In this meal with what was eaten so far. Each food is a row with:
  • a check to tick that food,
  • the food name and its protein, carbs and fat,
  • the amount, such as 150 g or 2 units,
  • a swap button, when alternatives exist,
  • an Amount button, when the amount can be changed.
The big button at the bottom reads Mark whole meal as eaten with a counter such as 2/4. When everything is ticked it reads Unmark meal.

Removing a food

Swiping a food row sideways reveals Delete. The food is taken out of that meal for that day only. There is no undo for a removed food on the same day, so the trainee adds it again with Add if needed.

Changing an amount

Amount under a food opens a small editor.
  • The plus and minus buttons step by 10 for foods measured in grams and by half a unit for foods counted in pieces or household measures such as cups and spoons.
  • The trainee can also type a number. Typed amounts go down to 1 gram or a quarter of a unit.
  • The top limit is 5,000 grams, or 99 units.
  • The line In your plan: shows your original amount.
  • Back to plan amount returns to it.
After a change, the button on the row reads Amount changed and the amount is shown in your studio colour. The meal totals, the day summary and what you see on the trainee card all use the new amount.

Swapping a food

When a food has alternatives, the row shows a button. It reads the number of alternatives, such as 3 alternatives, when you listed them yourself on the plan. It reads Swap when the plan has automatic alternatives switched on, because the whole food library is on offer. Tapping it opens the alternatives sheet.
  • The food from the plan is first, tagged Original.
  • If any alternative is marked as a trainer’s pick in your food library, those come under Trainer’s Recommendations with a star, and the rest under Other Substitutes.
  • Search alternatives… filters the list by name.
  • Each row shows the amount to eat of that food and its values.
The amount shown for each alternative is already calculated by the system to match the original food, so the trainee does not need to work anything out. Picking a food swaps it in. The row is marked Alternative. To go back, the trainee opens the sheet again and picks the one tagged Original. With automatic alternatives, the app first shows a short list and loads the full list in the background. If that fails it says We couldn’t load the full list of alternatives and offers Try again. If there are none it reads No substitutes yet.
Foods the trainee excluded in My food preferences are left out of the alternatives. See Food preferences.

Replacing the whole meal

When the trainee ate something completely different, AI Replace at the bottom of the meal opens a panel with three ways in:
  • Meal photo, described as Replaces everything in this meal,
  • a text box to describe what they ate, with Calculate values,
  • Scan barcode, described as Adds a product to this meal.
A photo or description is estimated by AI. The trainee sees the name and values and taps Add meal. The meal is then tagged Replaced and shows a card Replaced with and the new meal’s name and values. The planned foods no longer count for that day. Undo replacement at the bottom brings the planned meal back. A scanned barcode behaves differently: it adds one product next to the planned foods and replaces nothing. More on photos, text and barcodes is in Adding food, barcodes and AI.

Adding a food to a meal

Add next to the Ingredients title opens Add ingredient. The trainee can search the food library, scan a barcode, or describe the food for an AI estimate. An added food appears in the meal with an Added tag, its own check and its own Amount editor. Swiping it removes it.

Meals with a limit

You can leave a meal empty in the plan and give it a limit instead, so the trainee builds it. In the app:
  • the meal row reads Build this meal yourself,
  • opening the meal shows Meal limit with a gauge for each limited value: Protein, Carbs, Fat or Calories,
  • an empty meal says This meal is open: add ingredients up to the limit with an Add ingredients button. The add sheet opens by itself the first time,
  • while adding, a line shows what is still open, for example Left in this meal: followed by the amount, or Meal limit reached.
The limit is a guide. The app shows when it is reached and does not block the trainee from adding more.

What you see as the coach

Every tick, amount change, swap, replacement and added food is saved with the day, a moment after the trainee makes it. That saved day is what the coach web app reads for the trainee’s nutrition tracking.
