You can edit any exercise in the library, including the system exercises Perform supplies. An edit to a system exercise is private to your studio.

Edit a system exercise for your studio

1

Find the exercise

Open the Exercise library and find the exercise. System exercises carry the Global library badge.
2

Change it

Choose Edit to open the full form, or click a cell in the list to change one value.
3

Save

Choose Save. The badge changes to Edited by you.
What you can change on a system exercise:
  • Exercise name and English name
  • Type
  • Equipment
  • Muscle group, Target muscle and Secondary muscles
  • Instructions
  • The demo video
Your change is stored for your studio only. Other studios keep seeing the original exercise, and the shared exercise itself is never changed. You cannot delete a system exercise.
Your version is what shows everywhere in your studio: in the library, in searches and filters, in the program builder and in the trainee app.

Demo videos

Every exercise can have a demo video. The trainee opens it from the exercise during a workout.

On a studio exercise

Open Edit and use the Demo video field. Choose Link to paste a video address, or Upload to send a file.

On a system exercise

A system exercise can have two videos:
1

Open the video window

Choose Manage video on the row. The window is titled Exercise video.
2

Add your video

Under Your video, choose Link and paste an address, or choose Upload and pick a file.
3

Save

Choose Save. You see Video saved.
To go back to the supplied video, open Manage video again and choose Reset to default. In the View exercise card, the video is labeled Custom when it is yours and Default when it is the supplied one.

Upload limits

  • An uploaded video can be up to 99 MB. A larger file shows Video is too large (max 99MB). Use a link for longer videos.
  • A file that is not a supported video format shows Unsupported video format.
  • Perform recommends short clips of about 5 seconds for a better experience in the app.
For a long video, host it elsewhere and paste the link. Keep uploads for short loops that show one clean repetition.

What changes for trainees

Trainees see your studio’s version of an exercise in their workouts: your name for it, your instructions, your video and your target muscle. Plans that already use the exercise pick up the change, because a plan points to the exercise and does not keep its own copy of the details.
