A superset pairs an exercise with a second one that the trainee performs back to back. In the program builder a superset is two rows that belong together.

Create a superset

1

Pick the first exercise

Find the row that should lead the superset.
2

Turn the superset on

Click the button in the Superset column of that row. A second row appears directly under it, marked with the SS tag and a colored bar.
3

Choose the second exercise

Click Select exercise on the new row and pick the partner exercise.
4

Fill in the partner

Set the partner’s sets, reps and weight as you would for any exercise.
The partner row gets its own running number in the table, the same way the trainee app counts every exercise separately.

Shared rest

A superset has one rest time for both exercises.
  • You type the rest on the first row only.
  • The partner row has no rest field of its own. It shows the first row’s rest, faded, with a question mark next to it.
  • Hover the question mark to read the explanation: In a superset, a shared rest time is chosen for both exercises. For the trainee, the rest timer starts only after marking a set in the second exercise.
For the trainee this means one timer per round. They do a set of the first exercise, go straight to the same set of the second exercise, and the rest timer starts once both are marked done.
Change the rest on the first row and the partner row follows at once. You cannot give the partner a different rest.

Move, edit and remove

A superset can only be started from a normal row. A partner row cannot lead a superset of its own.

Supersets and auto-fill

Auto-fill copies sets and reps into a partner row like any other row. It never copies a rest value into a partner row, because the partner uses the shared rest. See auto-fill.

Good to know

  • Alternatives, coach notes and technique video rules are set per row, so each exercise in the superset can have its own.
  • Splitting a superset removes the partner row and everything typed on it. Add the exercise again as a normal row if you still want it in the day.
