Select trainees

  • Tick the checkbox on a row to select one trainee.
  • Tick Select all N filtered trainees above the list to select everyone who matches the current search and filters. The number in the label is the full count for the studio, including rows that are not loaded on screen yet.
  • Tick it again, or press Clear selection on the bar, to clear everything.
Filter first, then select all. For example, filter to trainees ending in the next 14 days, select all, and send one message.
Changing the search or the filters after a select-all does not untick the trainees you already selected. Check the count on the bar before you act.

The bulk bar

As soon as one trainee is ticked, a bar appears at the bottom of the list. It shows how many are selected and these buttons:

Send an in-app message

The message arrives as a push notification from the Perform app on each trainee’s phone.
1

Compose

Press Send message. Under Notification text, write the message. Press the Name chip to insert the name parameter. On send, it is replaced with each trainee’s first name.
2

Preview

Press Continue. The phone preview shows how the notification looks. Below it are sample messages for up to three recipients, each with their own name.
3

Send

Press Send in-app message. The result screen tells you how many trainees received it.
Things to know:
  • A message can be up to 1,000 characters and go to up to 500 trainees at once.
  • A trainee without the app installed, or with notifications off, does not receive it. The result reads, for example, “3 recipients did not receive it, they have no connected app.”
  • If nobody could be reached you see No notification was sent.
  • If coach messages are switched off in the studio’s notification settings, nothing is sent and the result says so.
  • Each delivered message is recorded on the trainee’s activity.
  • The selection is cleared after sending.

Create tasks

Press Create task. The dialog is titled “Create task for N trainees”. With several assignees the first trainer is the owner. Everyone assigned sees the task and only one needs to complete it. You see “N tasks created in the workboard” and the selection is cleared.

The Actions menu

Each action opens a small dialog, applies to every selected trainee and then reports how many were updated. The selection stays ticked afterwards, so you can run a second action on the same group.
Sends a form for the selected trainees to fill in now. Pick the form and adjust the message. An inactive form cannot be sent.
Sets a form as the standing form for the selected trainees. Choose the Form type, Onboarding or Check-in, then the Form, and press Apply.
Sets how often the selected trainees get their check-in form: Weekly, Biweekly or Monthly, with the send day or the day of the month.Trainees with no check-in form are skipped. The result tells you how many.
Pick a plan template. Use the search box and the folder chips, All and No folder, to find it. Every selected trainee gets the plan. You see “Plan assigned to N trainees”.Bulk assigning only adds a plan. It does not remove the plans a trainee already has.
Asks “Freeze N subscriptions?”. Each selected trainee’s active subscription is paused until you unfreeze it.Trainees who are already frozen are skipped. See Freezing and app access.
Asks “Unfreeze N subscriptions?”. Each frozen subscription starts running again from today.Trainees who are not frozen are skipped.
Adds the same subscription to every selected trainee, at the plan’s own price and length.
  • Plan: choose one. Plans with no fixed length are not offered here. Add those from the trainee’s card.
  • Start date: leave empty to use the studio’s start setting.
Trainees whose dates clash with an existing subscription are skipped. The result tells you how many.

Reading the result

After an action you may see up to three lines:
  • “N trainees updated”, or the specific version such as “N subscriptions frozen”.
  • “N skipped because”, followed by the reason.
  • “N trainees could not be updated”, when something failed for those trainees. The rest are still done.

Who can do this

A team member limited to their own trainees can only act on trainees assigned to them. A message sent to a mixed selection reaches only their own trainees.
