Green API is not in use. The backend README still lists it as a messaging provider and documents three environment variables for it, but there is no code behind them.

  • Setting the three GREEN_API_* variables has no effect.
  • All WhatsApp traffic goes through SmartSend. See SmartSend WhatsApp.
  • The README entries are stale. Remove them when you next touch that file, or the next person will look for an integration that is not there.

If you need a second WhatsApp provider

Do not copy the SmartSend call sites. They call ctx.smartsend directly, in about a dozen places, with SmartSend-specific arguments such as an organization key per call and template names approved on a specific number. A second provider would need a provider-neutral interface first, covering at least: send free text, send a template with parameters, verify an inbound webhook, and parse inbound messages. SmartSendClient in packages/smartsend/src/index.ts is the shape to generalize from.
